Isaac Espinoza

SVP, Strategy and Reinsurance
Root Inc.

Isaac is SVP, Strategy & Reinsurance, at Root and Managing Director of Root’s reinsurer, Root Re. Isaac joined Root in early 2020 to lead the company’s reinsurance program and oversee the Corporate Actuarial and Venture efforts. In his previous employment at Greenlight Reinsurance, he held senior roles in strategic investing, treaty pricing, underwriting, reserving, and capital modeling. While at Greenlight, his team made a dozen seed-stage investments in insurtech startups including Sana Benefits, Openly, Coterie, Battleface, Leap, and Handdii. Prior to that, Isaac worked at both Fireman's Fund and Farmers Insurance supporting their personal lines and corporate divisions. Isaac graduated with a degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Riverside, and is a Fellow of both the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) and Society of Actuaries (FSA), as well as a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).
