As a consulting director in RSM’s Actuarial Services practice, Fiona leads the execution of core P&C actuarial services, enabling client strategy and supporting business development. Her areas of focus include Canadian regulatory guidance and reporting, appointed actuary work, and enterprise risk management.
Prior to joining RSM, Fiona spent 11 years at the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada where she was responsible for reviewing and making recommendations to federally-regulated insurers, and advised C-suite executives, board of directors, senior leaders, regulatory bodies and consultants on various insurance and regulatory matters. As a founding member of OSFI's Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning Working Group, she researched banks and insurers' use of artificial intelligence for development of regulatory guidance on model risk. Prior to OSFI, Fiona spent 5 years with a big 4 consulting firm where she supported actuarial services consulting.
Fiona is keen on building relationships with industry leaders and academic researchers through speaking engagements and industry outreach. She is an instructor at the University of Toronto, chair of a CAS task force and an active member of various community initiatives. As an avid volunteer, she has participated in numerous CAS and CIA working groups.
